Big News coming for WMC Posted: Feb 7, 2008

Big News coming very soon for WMC 2008.

After what seems to have been years of talks and talks with various venues - Lady J is about to put ink to pen and Sundae will announce its WMC location and line up. The line up is crazy...... This will be an event not to miss. As soon as we get the ok, you will see your inbox filled with our announcement.

Also we will be releasing our WMC other gigs line up along with our fellow Philly and crew parties to look forward to in March.

P.S. to answer the rumors - Yes, it is true we were talking to the Versace Mansion for our party.....(thanks King)...but not sure if it was the right fit for our vibe.

Rich Medina
President's Day Weekend...

He killed it.

Thanks to everyone that made this night successful, especially to all the little ones that came to enjoy the music, the dance and each other. We actually had 4 teenage girls rocking to the music - which only means we must be getting cooler as a party.

You can check out the mixes online at Sundaephiladelphia.com

Super bowl Sundae Posted: Jan, 2008

Dahn, Dahn, Dahn, Dahnnnnnnn,

The battle of the year takes place on the Delaware River!!!!!

Come watch the game on the Big Screens and hear as two titans of teams clash over the ultimate title - DANCE FLOOR SUPREMACY.

This year we bring back dance floor favorites -Venus 7, Starchild & the Baraness. Individually they have been rocking parties for years and have personally rocked the Sundae Party. Now they come face to face with the proverbial boys of summer. DJs' Bryon the Intern - Lee Jones have been prepping for this game all year. And even with a handicap of Dirty being a possible no show (I predict he will be too upset to play, when the Giants loose on sundae night!!!!!) this team plans to take no prisoners.

So instead of hosting the biggest party of the year at your house - bring your crew to La Veranda and enjoy yourselves.

NEXT WEEK

"I've got a story to tell the dancers."
Lee Mayjahs? - said this last week at the Derrick Carter party.

So we already are expecting the place to packed with his crazy assortment of friends. So mark you calendars.

RIP Sundae Ipod Posted: Jan, 2008

Sundae Ipod 4/2/06 - 1/25/08

Sundae Ipod was conceived in California and assembled in China. During its short and joyous life, the Sundae Ipod brought joy and laughter to every one that came in contact with it. Originally brought by Bryan Barker, due to unforeseen circumstances, the Sundae Ipod found itself being adopted into the happy home of DJ Lee Jones & Dirty.

During this time, the Sundae Ipod recorded over 300 mixes and befriended many of the Worlds Top DJ. Perhaps its most memorable accomplishment would be the 10 hour Sundae Shakedown recording session at the 2007 WMC at the Marlin. This unprecedented event with friends and family in Miami was also the root cause of collapsing the Internet for almost two days, as millions attempted to down load this much anticipated mix and is now responsible for the new recording laws on the books today.

Sadly this amazing life took an unexpected turn for the worst over the Holiday season and sadly slipped into a comma this past Sundae and finally departed to a unlimited hard drive.

The Sundae Ipod leaves behind a loving family of Power Mac G5 (father) Mac G4 (mother), 5 Power Book G4's (siblings), a new born Mac Air (nephew) and various hard drives, printers & monitors. And though not part of it's computer family, a special bond was made between Bryon the Intern and the Sundae Ipod, whom worked closely together and was like brothers to each other.

A memorial service will be held at La Veranda this Sundae with one of the Sundae Ipod's oldest friends playing some of its favorite songs (Pete Moss).

In memory of our beloved family member we invite all to come with happy memories and loving thoughts , No tears, just laughter and dancing. That how the Sundae Ipod would have wanted it.

Join us this week for the return of Pete Moss. Over the years he has become a crowd favorite and returns to bless us this week at La Veranda.

PLEASE REMEMBER THAT THERE IS NO FOOTBALL THIS WEEK, SO I EXPECT TO SEE EVERYONE OUT AND ABOUT......I JUST WONDER WHAT ARE WE GOING TO PUT ON THE PLASMA'S NOW?

Get ready for an unprecedented match up. The Scrubs vs. the Sundae Crew. Please note the time difference.

AND YES WE WILL BE SHOWING THE GAME....SO WHY DIRTY YOUR HOUSE WHEN YOU CAN INVITE ALL YOUR FRIENDS OVER TO LA VERANDA. COME WATCH HISTORY IN THE MAKING, AS THE SUNDAE TEAM TREAT VENUS, STARCHILD AND THE BARANESS LIKE THE PATRIOTS WILL TREAT THE NY GIANTS.......LIKE A RED HEADED STEP CHILD.

HERE ARE SOME THINGS GOING ON THIS WEEK IN PHILLY.

Fluid Films presents - this years creepiest movie.......

Critics are call this a must see party. Not to miss for 2008.

On all screens Wednesday only - Fluid Nite club

UPN renews contract for 2008 season!!!!!!

In this new season, we find out, who is the player and who gets played.

Special Guest Star this season - Lee Jones??????

Destined for Oscar Gold
This Seasons most anticipated Party
starts in April at Pure Night Club

Final words:

I am amazed at how much response we received back from last weeks email blast - in what Sundaes goal for House music is". Close to 500 responses world wide came back in support. I am pleased that everyone is down for change....but please note that Sundae is just one of many parties going on in Philly. One main difference is that we promote ourselves everyday. I ask you to explore what the city has to offer and to go to some if not all of these parties with an open mind and give the music a try. You will never like everything you hear...but you won't know this until you give it a few tries. This does mean, that you should try out the parties a couple of times before casting your verdict.

Philly you have some of the worlds best talent spinning right in your back yards - this also goes for our sister cities like Lyon & Brisbane. So much local talent is BETTER than those that you import in. (and yes that includes when I come to spin too). Think Globally, but also support Organically your music scene and REMEMBER that electronica is still House and UNDERGROUND is all in perception. What may be the hot underground shit in Philly, may be played out in Brisbane.

To our future party people in Canada & Brazil, why not start off on "the good foot" and just play good dance music.

Nuff Said on That.

$$$$$ & Cents.

It was brought to our attention that the Owners of the parking lot have increased the cost to Valet. As of the New Year it is now $10 to valet. So Yes that means it can be $15.00 to come to the Sundae party. I can only say - please google the various Dj's you have heard at Sundae and look how much door charges are for them.

Sundae Philly is not designed to be a money making venue, but it does cost money to put this event on. This cost is greatly pushed aside by every Dj forgoing tier regular fee, agent fee, flight, room, Board and various other things. We try to keep the party as inexpensive as possible. I know that in light of us charging a cover this party now seems to have a different perception. So to address this again. It comes down to some simple math. Every Venue is established to make money - this revenue either comes from food or liquor. If you do not consume either of these, than you are not helping the cause. I do appreciate everyone that comes out to dance but unless they find away to harness the fantastic energy of your spirits and change that into dollars, then the ways to keep the party afloat will have to come directly from everyone pocket. And I for one, each week usually am pulling money out of my pocket to pay for something to do with Sundae.

If you were to compare us to two similar parties - Cielo - Wednesday - NYC - The cheapest door charge is $15 - add in toll, gas & time - its a lot more. West Coast Fav is Deep Sunday in LA - Starts at $22.46, with out a flight or hotel. Each party is unique and special, but talent for talent - Philly has been holding it down for Three years and with the likes of our talent - the fact that you can bring your kids - you get the free download almost weekly (R.I.P. Sundae IPOD) and the various other things including the Ice Cream Truck. $5 is very inexpensive, if not robbery in some states.

Out side of a Value meal at a local Fast Food Chain - what else can you get for $5.00?

Again, I am only responding to what some people have discussed with me and what others are thinking. So this is not a rant but way to keep you informed that we still do care.

And to hopefully put an end to this "I wish we were still at the Bubble House" thing.

Yo, last week was -2 degrees in Philly - now if you want to dance outside with out any type of heat lamp. Please be my guest - you can download the previous weeks mix onto your ipod and head on over to the Wind Tunnel known as Moravian Court and Party like a rock star.

Bubble House can not physically hold the number of people we currently have attending our party during the winter. Nor were they paying half the cost of the party (which La Veranda still does). Bubble House is best suited for our party during the Summer (we are starting that process as soon as we return from Miami) But in no way would it work during a Philly Winter.

I hope that this clears up things. And please feel free to talk to me about any suggestions about Sundae. I always have an open ear.

Do Something for your community on this day. Posted: Jan , 2008

Do Something for your community on this day.

a thought:

This past Sundae I a few of my conversations with you. All good, but two stuck out and some how kind of fit together. One was with a very talented dancer (who left us for a few months) the other with a World famous Dj & producer. The dancer came up to me and said that he was not feeling Miles (our guest Dj) and when would Dirty or I go back on - in fact he said he would even take the intern over this. I listened to his verse and asked, what was it that he didn't like? To sum it up, he said it was not the sound he was used to when he left Sundae for a few months.

I had explained that in fact this was too the Sundae Sound and that perhaps in his absence he did not realize that the Sundae Journey would take our core crowd into uncharted realms of House Music.

Depending on when you started receiving this blast....sometime over the summer I mentioned that I would not allow Sundae to become a group of deep house snobs. I saw what happened before in Philly and this would not happen during my watch. In my eyes or shall I say ears - Sundae is a House Music Party - and House Music is everything from Chaka Khan to Praga Khan. "House is a feeling, that no one can understand, unless you are deep into the vibe of House." This is the Anthem or Pledge of House, and something I really believe in. In fact it was how I was introduced and raised in House Culture.

House at its core is just music - if a Dj can rock the new Wink, Medina, Sasha, Britt track, another can actually put on a rock, soul, blues or even TV Jingle (Quest). It is only you, that stops you from dancing....I bet that toddler never skipped a beat on the dance floor.

If you look at the talent that has gifted Philadelphia - and it other two parties. You can see just how wide our spectrum of music has evolved since the first summer at Le Jardin. In 2008, I promise that Sundae - now as a global brand will continue to play house music in its widest forms. All I ask is that you have an open mind.

Now back to the dancer - I pointed out that he had skipped a few classes in House music and pointed back to the dance floor - still rocking with circle dancers (whom continued their education over the fall.)

My other conversation with the Dj - in short....I asked "how do I make Sundae better?"

We talked for about two hours - about promotions, marketing, Dj's and the Sundae Sound. He informed me that in fact a lot more "World Class" Dj want to spin the party in Philly, but think this is a "Master's at Work" Style party. I informed him that indeed it is not and as he could see from our line up that change was inevitable for Sundae.

Keeping the story as short as possible...Sundae - along with a few key people in the industry will be hosting some off the Planets most sought after DJs. This summer you will hear a wide range of from the likes of new comers (the the party) Cash Money, Diplo, Yost and more. Some acts will be announced - others you will just have to hope to be there.

Sundae is as strong as our weakest link, all I ask is that you listen with and open ear. And if your not feeling it one week, you know the next week will be more your cup of tea. Variety is what makes this party great - from the DJs, the dancer, the DRINKERS and yes the little kids that always remind us to just have fun.

2008 is going to be another amazing year in Philly.

That said....it is a pleasure to welcome Tigerhook own Phillip Charles and Hito. Two veterans of the Philly scene and accomplished producers to this weeks Sundae Party. Some of your favorite Sundae tracks were created, remixed or tweaked by Phil...

For those heading over to the other side of the world - check out a sundae co branding with the Zero Hour boys. This party is going to be massive - the first one there can use my VIP pass.

Coming in April - a new type of party for Philly. This is going to be crazy.

You can't beat this price. come early it will pack out

I am going just to hear Jay Yo spin.
Here is what is going on ...dj submit your parties. check website soon.

With global warming its hard to know if it is going to be hot or cold. So far this week it has been freezing. so why not try out our Sundae Coco. Delicious.....

Congratulations to Tracy and Rich Medina
Another House head was born last week.

Dirty Does it...

Many of you have been asking where can I go on a Friday. Well Dirty (kanye east) is throwing it down this and every week at the Barbary. The place is dope and the drinks are cheap. Dirty has learned a lot under my guidance and now is ready to try a little party on his own. It will be great to see all of you there holding it down with him and his special guests - Sound between Movement's own Sean Thomas and Joey Crawford.

So make it a night and call all your peeps to come over to the Barbary and get a proper dose of House Music.

Try out our new drink this week. While sitting out on the heated deck over looking the marina - sip on some spiked Coco by Godiva. Delicious.

Click for the party info. Arrive early........

Looks like a party is coming together....Oscar P is coming in from a gig in B-more to join us. It's his birthday along with our fave flame thrower Samatha Isom. This will be another amazing event.

The British are coming, The British are coming!!!! Well via Australia that is. After a 48 hour plane flight, Jimmy "boom boom" Ellis has arrived in Philly. He is excited to be here freezing his ass off here rather than strolling on the sunny beaches of Australia. Directly off the plane his first question was can we go to the Gay bar!!!! (just kidding) (maybe - ask Spenser) then can I play at least a four hour set!!!! - Looks like he is trying to step up like Britt, Quest, Medina and Wink Dooooooo. I said yes, so along with The Baraness - who is just wicked on the vinyl - this Sundae will again be an afternoon to remember.

Jimmy has got to be the craziest Dj behind the decks - Not as crazy as Lars B, but still crazy. If you have a second from dancing make sure to look at him move behind the tables. This is stickily youtube material......!

He says he is not nervous about spinning the party, so I know that he will rock the place. You can check out his last mix with sundae via our mixed cd selection - with Pete Moss. This time I promised him, I would not drive an Ice Cream Truck onto his dance floor.

For Immediate Release

The Americans again win over the Aussies

Big Thanks to Benn and Luke for holding down the party in Australia - here are last weeks photos with guest DJ J-Jay.

City, Looks like everyone is having a blast. And let not forget the unforgettable Dj Rousey - also part of the Sundae crew and who has taught Benn a lot about Djing.

God came to La Veranda last Sundae in the forms of Dj Glenn Thornton & Mike Maserati. From start to finish these two extremely talented DJs' painted a beautiful tapestry of Beat, Rhythms and Soul. Please take a moment to listen to our latest download at Sundaephiladelphia.com.

A Philadelphia First
By Stephen Lunger

The Regional Rail R3 connects West Trenton with Philadelphia. It takes roughly one hour to travel the line from one end to the other as it passes by some of Bucks County's richest suburbs. The ride itself has a photographic quality, something that gives it an almost nostalgic feeling. And on any given sunny day you can enjoy a picturesque view from a window seat. I rode this exact route on my first trip to Philadelphia at the age of 16, young and, well, naive.
It was early autumn. That time of year when the colors turn and the weather goes back and forth between hot and cold. But the beauty of my ride did not match the ideas inside my head about Philadelphia. These ideas came from movies, television and music and supported a false belief in the inherent dangers of city life. A city filled with crack heads, hustlers, murders and all types of vice living alongside the wealth and fame of rap stars, businessmen and attorneys. Even though I was young I knew better than to believe that the city was overrun with danger but I still did not know what to expect. The media's artificial blueprint of Philadelphia was quickly dispelled on my first visit.
I rode the R3 line all the way from Yardley to Center City. My oily faced skepticism vanished once the first wall of colorful graffiti swept by my window. Bright blues, yellows, oranges and greens filled my eyes. Tags and pieces were written on bridges, factory buildings, and fences. The dark grays of the cityscape provided an amazing backdrop for the vibrant effect of the illegal artists work. The rebellious spirit of this graffiti appealed to me as a young man and seeing the sheer amount of writing along with the strength of the work opened my mind to a different Philadelphia than I had imagined. Already my ideas of the city began to change.
With the sun shining I walked from The Gallery to South Street along Jewelers Row. I was confronted by an amazing array of fine jewelry. "This city has wealth, so it can't be all bad," I thought. My next memory is of the shops on South Street. They were filled with an amazing assortment of cool stuff. Clothing boutiques, shoe shops, comic books stores, art dealers, a theater, record shops, classic food spots and the behemoth that is Condom Kingdom, all amazed me. And then I saw "The Gum Tree". This tree dispelled all thoughts of a city racked by despair. On the contrary, from the mindset of a 16 year old boy that tree epitomized everything that was right with Philadelphia. A tree covered with gum is straight up weird but its random placement in the middle of a shopping district was by far the best the part. Right then, in front of Ishkabibbles, I knew that Philadelphia was cool.
Dusk rolled around and I rode the R3 back to Yardley. My vision of the Philadelphia changed forever. I do not remember much about my ride back. But I have lived in Philadelphia for seven years, since the age of 18 when I was a freshman at Temple University. As a teenager I was attracted to the thought of life in the city, inspired by the appeal of modern culture and pulled by the forces of adolescence to experience new things. I have since made Philadelphia (or to put it more aptly Philly) my home. And autumn is still one of my favorite times of year.
The people of Philadelphia are unique. Nowhere else have I felt as powerfully drawn to a place as I have here. Philadelphians know that this city is special, but this is often times overlooked, like an unpolished jewel it does not get the chance to shine. Just like the people who live here Philly hustles. You have to hustle if you live here. This city breeds hustlers. And it is this very hustle that makes it undeniably special; it holds people's hearts and binds them together. I love Philadelphia, I love Philly. If you have not yet loved Philly then you need to visit us and see why you should. Come see why Philly is the best.

To our global audience - Never attempt to drive in America over the Holidays.
If only Jay Tripwire would have listened.....I think he is still stuck in traffic.

Nuff said on that - One great thing about Philly is the massive amount of Talent that is right around the block. Where else can you pick up a phone a see if Wink, Britt, Medina, Moss or many others are free for a few hours!!!!! on that DAY!!!!!!
Well we didn't have to even pick up the phone cuz Sean Thomas was already on his way over. He along with Dirty smashed the place up. Check out the mixes on the site to hear the maddness.

I would also like to thank Regan Jones for opening up and BRINGING the ladies over early to La Veranda. Again another great Sunset set was had by all that arrived early.
You can also check his set out on the web site too.

Another Sundae Investigation
Behind the music

What favorite Sundae DJ used to be in New Kids on the Block?

The answer is at the bottom of the email blast...........

For those that will are looking for a spiritual lift this week ------Look no further.

This week, we have a power house combination of Legendary DJ Mike Maserati and DJ Glenn Thornton.

This is going to be an uplifting event...again you must arrive early.....DJ Mike Maserati is the guy that actually taught Peaches and Randy Flash how to beat mix (they will kill me for this) And Glenn Thornton is not only a wizard behind the tables but an extremely successful producer and remixer for Slagg Records. Some of the most memorable parties during the WMC are him "making the Children dance".

Come Early and stay really late - This week Swanky gets into the mix with the first of its Holiday parties directly following Sundae - hosted by the one and only Johnny Frankowski!!!!

Here is the first of many articles by you, the people of Sundae and Philly.

Philly and Dancing by Metal

I realized that Philadelphia was a city of dancers about a month ago at King Britt's party Back to Basics, which he throws Monday nights at Silk City. Being a new jack in the scene (I've only been dancing in Philly for three years), I didn't immediately recognize some of the legends both in music and dance that were walking by me as I stood outside. Rather, my attention was on a man - who I can only assume is homeless - who was getting his swerve on next to the bike rack. This man, and you know who I'm talking about if you've gone to Silk City on Monday or Thursday nights, plants himself on that very sidewalk of Spring Garden and gets loose to whatever funk, soul, house, or hip hop is spilling out into the streets every single week. He never asks for money or cigarettes; most of the time he merely keeps to himself and has as much fun as any hipster who pays the entrance fee. "That," I said to my friend as we walked by, "is a man who likes to dance."
Of course, once we actually entered the club, more noticeable and more aesthetically pleasing examples of dance were available, but I still believe that the man outside best encompasses the city of Philadelphia's love for the combination of music and movement. I mean, you have to admit that this city loves to groove. This is not to say that the rest of the world doesn't enjoy getting down also, but I believe that even the most well-traveled partygoers must dig deeply and admit that the dopest parties they've been to in terms of dance have been in Philly. Well, if not the dopest, at least the realest and the rawest.
Before you begin calling up images of Ibiza or Miami, let me first define what I mean by real and raw, and perhaps it's best to start with examples. Let's take that particular night of Back to Basics for starters: when you pass by a bum who has been dancing for the last two hours only to enter a building where QuestLove and Rob Paine are trading off drumming for a live jazz band that is simultaneously having a musical call-and-response with a clog tap dancer, that's straight up RAW. Not to mention you only paid six bucks. If you were there that night, you know that raw is the only way something that serendipitous can be described. When you've got some of the best house dancers in the world ciphering to the sounds of one of the best house DJ's in the world, yet nobody is famous, that's straight raw son! If you see fourteen year old girls sweating and grinding and jumping into splits on the ground because they're feeling the music, not because they're feeling prematurely sexual, that's raw. But, you might be saying to yourself, "But that ain't even all that; that kind of stuff happens all the time," to which I respond, "Why yes, yes it does - in Philly."
You see, my being an immigrant to this city has allowed me to see how ubiquitous your people's rawness can be, that is to say, how truly dope, truly beautiful, and truly real events occur quite frequently here. There's something in the water that allows a little bit of planning and a lot of music to combine to form a natural social focal point. To get back to specific examples, you've got Odunde, B-Boy Barbeque, Flava Fest, and of course the Sundae parties as prime illustrations of real people combining with real music to create real dance. If you miss one of these events, it is guaranteed that you missed something, because something always pops off. That's the point I'm trying to make here, and I'm expanding my claim of Philly's rawness to include more than dance: something always is poppin' here. You don't have to force it, it just happens naturally, and that is the beauty of this city. If you put on a record, they will start dancing.
Let me speak specifically to the dancers now: the next time you're at one of these aforementioned events, just look around at all the smiling people there are. They are most likely so into whatever it is that they're a part of that they don't even realize how beautiful the whole event is. I mean, not to be too sappy about it, but it is a beautiful thing to be surrounded by cats having a great time! And it happens here all the time! I think that dancers, particularly those who specialize in contemporary social or 'urban' dance (I'm talking to B-boys, house dancers, hustlers, salsa dancers, and even Wu-Tangers) can easily get so ingrained into a culture that they can't see the brilliance of what they are doing. I hear it from DJ's all the time: "You dancers just don't know how good you got it here." And they're right, to an extent, in that Philly dancers, I believe, have the luxury of defining the tone and music of a number of clubs and events around the city. You know that if you're a dancer, DJ Skeme or any of the Ill Vibe heads will lay on some rare funk just for you as soon as you step onto that floor. You know that DJ Lee Jones will hit you with the house music the second you walk up the steps to Vango. If you Wu-tang, there are spots in North Philly that will play Baltimore club all night. If you salsa, you know that Brasil's in Old City is a sure thing. And B-Boys and B-Girls will always have the Gathering in West Philly.
Wait, strike that: we can't assume that the Gathering will always be there. See, I've fallen into the trap just like all the other dancers. We have it so good here that we start taking it for granted. The only reason why we have all these venues and DJs that cater to us is that there are a few people in this city that respect our dance styles enough to go out of their way to keep them alive. Events like the Gathering and Sundae are specifically designed not to play us out and use us as entertainment or kitsch or even credibility: they just care about us enough to create a place where we can do our thing. Sometimes we dancers (and I do this too) tend to think that we're the life of the party - yes, I do think that we add a certain charm to a club, but what I've come to realize is that the party would go on without us too.
This brings me to my next point. Let's get away from the topic of dancers and focus on the regular Philadelphians, a people who also know how to get funky. Again, I can only imagine that there's something in the water here that lets the tie-sporting corporate lawyer crowd get as loose as they do. Whereas most clubs and bars that I've been to where the majority of patrons are wearing polish-able shoes are reserved primarily for profiling purposes, Philly white-collar folk come out to dance; and they'll wine as dutty as the next man. Check out the mix of people at Brendan Bringem's party Wednesdays at the Walnut Room and you'll know what I mean. Lawyers and accountants may not be the best dancers in the world, but they definitely know how to have fun in Philly. Granted, it might take a little liquid courage to nudge them onto the dance floor, but at least they're willing to put themselves out there and just have some fun. And they tend to appreciate good music too; DJ's in Philly can stray (intelligently only, mind you) from top 40 to include some actual real music without worrying about losing the necktie crowd.
This is what I mean when I say that the party would go on without us dancers, because what this city doesn't realize is that social dancing is simply in the water. Philly folk like to dance, period. Historically, there were many social dances that were pioneered or perfected here. I had to talk to Moncell Durden, social historian and house/funk/hip hop dancer to learn that there used to be gangs of Jazz dancers that would stand on practically every street corner all along Broad St., waiting to battle anyone that entered their turf. You can ask DJ Skeme about the days he spent breakin' on cardboard or doing Hip Hop dance on the sidewalks in the 80's. And today, we've got the Wu-Tang, Spongebob, and D-Mac. The sad thing is that I still can't figure out what it is about this place that spawns all the natural dance. You ask a thug, a high school kid, an accountant, and a professional dancer what their plans are this Friday, and most likely you hear that they're going out dancing. So why? Why do Philadelphians love to get loose so much?
I'm not going to commit to an answer to that just yet. I think it's some kind of combination between the high murder rate and the fact that you have to really work your ass off in order to make your mark in this town, no matter your profession. Maybe people are just constantly spread a little thin here, and they need to let go every once in a while; like the Baltimore club song says, "dance your pain away." If you come up with any theories, please let me know. I think there probably isn't a formula to it - it just happens, because of people who care enough to throw good parties, play good music, and let everything just be everything. My point is, the next time you're out, you should look up every now and then in the club, or in the circle, or wherever you are, and just take in how Philly the vibe is. Recognize the real and the raw and just take it all in; it's a pretty cool thing. To you corporate socialites, I implore you to keep doing your thing on the dance floor and remember to respect the ciphers! And you dancers out there, remember to respect the venue, don't bitch and moan too much and buy a drink every now and then! And if all else fails, we can all just meet up on the sidewalk of Spring Garden.

A Positive Memory In Philadelphia by Chad $$$

One mist filled foggy Summer night in the city of Philadelphia, five members of Repstyles B-boying Crew, Metal, Rukkus, Blao, Chad Money, and Steve Believe went out for their normal practice session at a popular local lounge called the Walnut Room. This was a normal Tuesday night ritual where they would explore different styles of dance including Hip-Hop, Poppin, Lockin, House, and Jazz Funk, as well as B-boying of course, while listening to their favorite international DJ, Skeme Richards. This particular night inside the club was rather dead, so the crew decided to retire home for the evening. While exiting the club they stopped to chat with Gump, the comical, tattooed, muscular, philosophical, prayer bead wearing bouncer who often worked the door on a standard Tuesday night. They got into a boisterous debate about whether or not action film star Jet Li was the real macoy, or was he such a phony that Gump could kick his ass! Just then, a tall, frail, dirty old man came out of the woodwork and interupted their conversation. At this very moment, all of the members of the crew began laughing. He was wearing a dusty gray hooded sweatshirt, dingy blue jeans, and had about eight chicklets(teeth) left hanging from his gums. He began yelling, "Yo, I got a rap I wanna spit fa ya'll, listen up". They all knew why he approached them. He wanted to recite a rap verse in the hopes that he would impress them, in turn, they feel it necessary to give him money. Little did this unsuspecting bum and many bystanders watching know that the Repstyles Crew had a little something extra up their sleeve for just an occasion like this one. So the rapping bum recites his verse. At the end of his rhyming rant, the crew was left unimpressed. The crew, gump, and outside onlookers couldn't understand what his musical tangeant was all about. Just then, Metal says to the bum," Let me introduce some of my friends to you".

Chad Money - "We'll I'm Chad"
Repstyles Crew(all together) "Chad Money"
Chad Money - "And I'm very charmin, My B-boyin skills is crazy alarmin"

Steve Believe- "And I'm Steve"
Repstyles Crew(all together) "Steve Believe"
Steve Believe- "And on the floor, you kno I got the skills galore"

Blao- "And I'm Blao"
Repstyles Crew(all together) "Kidd Napp"
Bloa- "And that's a fact, I do crazy crazy spins on my Back"

Metal- "And I'm Metal"
Repstyles Crew(all together) "Metal Rock"
Metal- "And I'm here to say, that I like Fruity Pebbles in a major way."

Rukkus- "And I'm Rukkus"
Repstyles Crew(all together) "Rukk 1"
Rukkus- "And I'm on the run, trying to make this party a bunch of fun"

Repstyles Crew(all together) "And together we are the Repstyles Crew, we wabadewap and we do da do,
for you you you and your whole entire crew. Woooooooooooooo!!!"

When their old school rap was finished, every spectator could be seen curled up crying tears of laughter. Not even Gump could hold it in. The crew then began shouting "woo woo" and giving hi-fives to anyone who was nearby. After the melee of noise was over with, Chad Money shouted " Yo fellas, Let's be out". Every Member of Repstyles Crew then took off running into traffic down the middle of Walnut street doing back flips and shouting needlessly until they reached their cars only to speed off into the night, leaving Gump standing in front of the lounge laughing while the bum was still asking people for change. Just your average memorable evening for the Repstyles Crew in the City of Brotherly Love.

Please don't go girl...was an hit in the 80's - sung by our own Joey "Crawford" McIntyre. So what is he up to besides Djing? He actually teaches kids with learning disabilities.
Now doesn't that just make your heart melt again ladies????? Well to late, he is married with kids and pets too.
But it nice to see a child star actually live out a normal life - as an undercover millionaire.

I wonder - how many girls (and spenser) went to bed each night on New Kids on the Block Pillows?????

Sundae would like to thank Dave Rice for suppling us with this bonus trading card!!!!

Special Holiday Reminder from Sundae
For
Immediate
Release

Add another 2695 dots to this picture

This is what the airspace over the States looked like this past Wednesday night - over 8000 commercial flights were in the air at one time. Millions of people flew home to be with family or flew away from them.

You may want to know why I am bringing this up and what it has to do with Sundae....Well it is very simple. What goes away must come back!!!! That means millions will be on the road again this Sundae!!!!!

For those of you who do not have a scheduled flight, why not relax to some great music with awesome people and really get into the holiday feel by spending a few, deserved hours with the Sundae Crew. That's right, invite Aunt Bunny and Cousin Jeb to your favorite watering hole. You know if you are really in the Holiday Spirit, you can even download some mixes from the site and let them take the memory on the road with them.

You can even have them pack up the car an kids at your house - have them follow you over to La Veranda - only pay five bucks to valet - and let the kids run themselves to exhaustion....there is nothing better than a road trip with good music and the kids sleeping all the way home. You can even get a great bite to eat too at the Venue.

So with this win, win, win situation in front of you. How can you not accept this great opportunity.

Now as an extra bonus, you can use us as an aerobic activity - to shed off some of those pounds you picked up over the past few days - shopping burn so little calories - dancing does more!!!!

So I expect to see you all there early.....Ready to hit the road or work off those pounds.

Remember....you have to fit into that New Years Outfit in under 40 days!!!

Along side with our long time supporter Regan Jones spinning the sunset set - This extended holiday session of Sundae will be a one time event. So please make sure to arrive early and REMEMBER TO VALET PARK.

Jay has played in numerous cities across the globe at some of the finest clubs the world has to offer such as regular apearances at Fabric, Subterrain@The End,Blond@AKA, Propoganda in Moscow, Bedrock@Heaven, The Bomb, System, OTV, Ottozutz and beyond from Moscow to Japan, and London to Barcelona.

Note from Lee Jones ( if not a little buzzed)

Thanksgiving.......

I am truly thankful.

Looking back over a tremendous three years of a dream call Sundae.....I am very thankful for three continents to take on the concept of putting music to the masses. I am thankful for all the artist that have graced all the parties and left everyone with a smile and a sense of satisfaction. I am thankfully that I have a awesome group of people that support and expand the Sundae brand in Philly each and every week.

You don't realize just how special each and everyone one of you are. So many of you come up and thank me for the party......this would not be possible with out you actually walking out your door and dragging your friend or co worker out to "this great party I go to" each and every week.

I am thankful for the possible generations that will come forth from this party.....when ever I see a small one dancing and just getting the groove of Sundae....I ponder.....will they take this unlearned lesson and apply it into life and just accept people as they are instead of what they are taught. I look around and I am impressed by the majesty of the party......Almost everyone from everywhere is representing in Philly at the party.

When I reflect back over this past summer and look at the immense diversity of the participants....I am in awe of it. Philly, you should give yourselves a big round of applause for this accomplishment in itself.

Then I look to France and Australia - who in their own right are holding it down for themselves. I would have never thought that this could be....and then I have on our footsteps a possible - London, Tokyo, Perth & Tialand coming on board for this mystical madness. And all I can say is thank you.

Let alone the talent around the world that has graced our feet with voice & beats - my highlights of this past summer......and not to discount all the amazing talent we have would be the impromptu between Ursula Rucker and King Britt and perhaps my all time Fave - Lady Alma......when she just lifted the beats of Darren Holland and just delivered us into a Sundae Morning Worship.....

These are all steams of thought right now....as I have a few friends over---drinking a couple bottles of wine and just looking over how grateful we are...

In a world, where everything negative is put in our faces daily.....if you stop.....breath and just slowly open your eyes and look around.....there is so much positivity all around.....

I can not only speak for Philly but for the many times I have had the honor of traveling the planet and to feel that special kind of love that only a House party can give.....regardless if it is from the kids in Lyon to some of my favorite drinkers in Oz.....I am thankful for everything that Sundae has produced.

Thanks go out to Dirty, Byron, Jess, Oscar, Stephan & Benn who have help all along..

To whom ever reads this......remember to just stop...........breath.......slowly open your eyes and look at all the positive thing that are right in front of you......

Each one of these parties is only good, because you have made it so.

You have been missing a great early show at La Veranda.....Last Week was Dj Lonely and this week was Jon Gill......

I can not stress how important it is that you come early each and every week.....Some of these guys are just killing it..

This week we have long time supporter Regan coming in to put his thing down.....I strongly suggest you don't eat too much Turkey this weekend and make plans to hear
over to La Veranda by Five..

You will hate yourself if you don't make it.

Well, he was suppose to come in August but is now finally here
to welcome in the Holiday Season.

Ladies and Gents.....Sundae has Jay Tripwire.......

Be prepared to dance away all those holiday calories.....

This Guy is Sick.

One night only

It is the BIIIIIIIGGGGGGGEEEEESSSSSTTTTTT Day in Philly....

Tonight there are a massive amount of parties.....but only two you should head over too....in the same neighborhood

Only a few words to say.......Hot party.......Great Space.....Free Entry.....Beds Upstairs....Global
Warming means November is the new August.

Come early...

On the corner of 18th and Sansom-----Lee Jones is killing it tonight

Check out our friends around the block at Smiths....

There is one more....Premiere is throwing another quality (non - house music event) this year it is at the Lowes Hotel....

The link I have does not work...but if you want to get your hip hop on....join them at Sole restaurant in the bottom of
the Lowes hotel

NOW IF YOU ARE GOING OUT TODAY IN PHILLY....DON'T SLEEP...ARRIVE EARLY....EVERYTHING
WILL SELL OUT AND YOU'LL END UP HANGING OUT AT A SHIT CLUB.

EARLY MEANS, YES YOU ARE ALREADY AT THE CLUB BY TEN PM...

Due to circumstances beyond our control, Benn Hopkins will not be spinning the Sundae Party this week.. However, we are thankful to have Adam Auburn returning. Adam was one of our first DJ to rock the Le Jardin and the first DJ to really represent Baltimore.

With an impressive residency at the now famous Mosaic Club in Baltimore, Adam not only spins the hottest music but is responsible for bringing some of the worlds hottest acts to the East Coast of America. Over the years, Adam has also thrown some pretty hot parties in Miami for the WMCs along side Dae Recordings and has even earned the winning spot in the Traxsource DJ Competition.
Come prepared for a day of deep, soulful uplifting house music that has become the signature sound of Mr. Auburn.

For our Sun Set Series - we are pleased to introduce for the first time as a DJ to the Sundae Family...DJ Lonely - one of my favorite Amish. Many of you have seen him wreaking the dance floor all summer long. But this Sundae he will be wreaking the turntables. I am excited about this great pairing of DJ and hope to see you all there early to enjoy a full days serving of quality house music.

With so many millions of people in the Philly area, there has to be an equal amount of stories about the city. With that said, Sundae is launching a new series of stories told from the people of Philly and those of the party. This will be headed up by our newest staff writer - Metal. I have been thinking about this idea for awhile and over breakfast and a bribe of Stevie Wonder Tickets, Metal signed on. I look forward to his first article/interview in the next weeks issue. I also extend the invitation to all of our readers - that have been to Philly.....you can only truly talk about a place if you have truly been there.......

The subject manner can be about anything positive about the city. Write about your favorite waitress, your favorite parking space, Tell us about an afternoon walking down the street or a day playing in the snow with your kids. The sky is the limit and we have 52 weeks to tell it. Please submit any stories to djleejones@sundaephiladelphia.com - please put story in the subject line.

I come from the land down under

This blast is coming out early....one due to Halloween in the Northern Hemisphere and two I am about 14 hours ahead of Philly. So if I don't do this before i hit the bed....it will be to late for some of the Halloween parties and other things to plan this festive week.

Japan and Australia have been great....lots of things to see and do and lots of things not to mention too. This is a photo from the back of the boat overlooking Bris-Vegas this past sundae.

The bad news is .....neither one of the parties - Philly or Brisbane recorded their respective sets. So if you were not there...sorry. Also Philly has yet to produce photos for this blasts deadline (Byron's job). So there will be no report on Philly this week, but Dirty did say it was a great party. It is a shame that Bryon could not get me the information, but when I return ....I (as usual, will take care of things.

A note for parents and those that are around children. The other night I had dinner with John Rouse - a high ranking detective in charge of capturing pedifiles from around the world...He is in constant contact with every international intelligence agency around the world and in fact had to take a call from Washington from the head of the F.B.I.. Being a friend and I have the upmost respect for him and his colleagues. Anyway - over this conversation I inquired if he had any info to pass along to our global audience - particularly those with children. He gladly said that he would work on something and we should be posting it up permanently on our site. This will run in next weeks blast and I encourage everyone to pass it on. All the stories he tells me are just shocking and a lot of this crazy shit goes on because parents just don't know how a predator thinks. So stay tuned for more information on the website and in next weeks blast.

Now on with the show.

This image will only make sense to about 2% of our audience - for those that don't get it - I am sorry. But for those of you who do - I cracked up as soon as I saw this line up in Australia....

Sundae world wide is just killing it. This event was sold out before King or I even arrived on that fine Australian soil. This six hour tour smack dab in the middle of Brisbane was a reflection of humanity and how alike we are - no matter the distance. From the moment I arrived in Oz, I was embraced like family by the Sundae crew...From faces that I have know for close to a decade too, ones I have met for the first time. Everyone greeted Britt and I with a smile and excitement of the journey about to commence.

Britt - threw me for a loop when he called and said that he wanted to open the party with some chill beats and tunes. What a perfect way to start an afternoon delight in the golden Australian sun. From Chuck Mangione's - Feel So Good - to Lisa Stansfields' Change, Britt literally choreographed the music to the scenery drifting by the port windows. Girls in sun dresses, grooved to these perfect sun filled beats , while the guys kept and watchful eye and a prayerful thought for a small wind gust across the bow of the ship. For the next two hours - this deep groove that King paced amongst the Brisbane skyline - kept the atmosphere light and sexy. Britt - showed the Kangaroos how to flow with the Philly groove.

As night fall became the backdrop for the city to illuminate our path, I took over and proceeded to tell the story of House, Philly style.

The one thing that I noticed about the boat party - besides the sun dresses - was the harmony among the crowd. With the party fully in swing, I noticed the chemistry amongst the participants. From Mark & Katrina grooving on the upper decks and chatting up newbies to the party. Mr. Sparkles - staying close to the booth and always providing a smile for each track coming over the sound system. Sorin and Jimmy - "working it out" on the dance floor. Benn & Luke carefully watching from the starboard side - to make sure everyone needs were taken care off. Mr. Pink grooving center stage with a posse of hot females. Mark t & Morgan - Rocking the dance floor and keeping King and I well nourished. Franita & friends - taking a cue from Mr. Timberlake's previous nights concert - by "bringing sexy back". Cameron Brown & Kerrin - representing both sides of Imperial England's musical influence on the world, by reminding us that yes, DJs' do dance!!!! Snapping pictures and stealing hearts belonged to Jemma, and paying homage to the power of "The force - Marcus" (love the belt buckle). But the most important person on the boat to me, was Thomas - the virtual pulse of Brisbane and the ambassador of all things Crazy, Sexy & Cool about Australia. To see him on the floor - with his eyes closed, shirt drenched with perspiration - just feeling the music. That was the Catalase of the party exploding into one hot, sweating mess of Funk, Soul, House, Hip Hop and a little track that made a big impact _- Men at Work's _- " I come from the land down under", into a memorable Sundae that reflects the love and "family feel" that I experience every week in Philly.

Thank you all for making two guys from Philly - feel like a 29 hour flight across the Pacific some how landed us back home.

I have spun a lot of parties - and this one will go down as one of my favorites........well until the next time I return to the wonderful world of OZ.

For more picutes - visit our main site at sundaephiladelphia.com and click downloads and look past the music - until you reach the pictures.

Special shout outs to Benn Hopkins for keeping me hostage in the suburbs of Australia. It was for my own good. (I just didn't realize it)

Sneaker lovers unit....

If you can't make it this store in person - you can at least shop online

Check out this cool store I came across while traveling - it's called apartment and if you like sneaks - well this is it.

if the link does not work - hit up aptmnt.com

You never really see a lot of Pigeons in Australia
(check photo above selection .05)

This week at Sundae - Dirty, Bryon - the forgetful intern and I will take on The Baraness in the first of Spin cycles this Winter. What is Spin Cycle you ask - well it is basically a DJs Jam Session. We invite some of our favorite DJs to come over and drop some wax along side us. You never know what or who to expect on these parties. I will be arriving later in the evening - around 8- but just in time to bring in some smuggled tunes across the boarder. Make sure to pace yourselves - I can't wait to get to Swanky and spin.

The party starts this Halloween at Vango - the new hot spot I am holding down each and every Wednesday night. (well, not this night) but Dirty a.k.a. Kanye East will be rocking the joint with the beats that keep you feet on the dance floor all night long. The cost is free and the Venue is indoor/outdoor with an amazing view of the skyline. Vango is located on 18th st btwn Sansom and Chestnut - Directly over Byblos. Come out and help Dirty hold it down - until I return next week.

Get your freak on with Josh Wink - this week at Last Wednesday - make it a night and do both parties.

wait until you see Winks costume - ha - ha - ha.

This week is all about getting Dirty...make sure to join him at th
e new Paper Street party called Mad Pussy. It another Tommy Up creation with Guest Djs galore an
d tons of fun things to make your pussy happy. This weeks guest will be Dj Venus 7. You all know h
ow she rocks a party. So stop by and support Dirty - Just make sure he goes home after the gig, we
need him fresh for this coming Sundae.

Good bye from Oz! (notice Benn is DR

Greetings from Sundae (Tokyo)????

VOTE!!!!! Now and often

Well, Thank You Philly and Thank You World....the Ballets are now out and you can officially vote for us. Click the link above to a hyperlink to the swell people at City Paper and vote as many times as you can. I am really happy to see Bryon the intern up there with us as one of the cities best DJ's. It all because of you guys......remember when he didn't play vocals at all????!!!!!?????.... Now look our little intern is growing up.

If for some reason you can't hit the hyperlink - just goggle city paper choice awards 07 or something like this.

You know if we win......there will be a huge party for all of you.......and you all deserve it!!!!!!

p.s. John Wicks -- you owe us -- bubble house is all over the ballots -- there better be some Saki Sangrias at the Victory Party!!!!

You would think it the most Techy advanced city there would be faster Internet...... Any way....LA VERANDA WAS A SUCCESS!!!!! Thank you all for supporting and sorry for the little mix up at the door. (click on the eye to see some of the photo ----warning if you have dial up------(phil) forget it..to photos are too big and will crash your system.) Everything about Sundae at our new winter home was flawless...the service was on point - the guys opening the doors when you walked in and out - beyond my expectations - the view from the deck - amazing - the food -- too much for one person to eat -- the bar service - quick and the cocktail service - they were like Ninjas......We are making the dance floor bigger this week (I really didn't expect so many of you to show) - Remember that Valet is only $5 Bucks. And for those of you taking Public Transit - get off the El at Second and Market and walk over the bridge.

This week we have Starchild and also the Baraness who will kick off our Sunset Sessions - an earlier slot that allows you to groove to some great tunes while you watch the sun set over Philly. You can't beat a hot chick behind the 12's and a pretty sky over the Delaware.

This is a costume party.....so parents bring the kids early.....we have lots of candy for them (which will make them crash on the way home and allow you to put them right to bed). For all of you that are kids at heart - come dressed up too..you know you want to. For the kids and everyone dressed we will be taking photos and posting them up on the site for the world to see. So come as your best or worst and show the world what you've got.

(parents - we will be giving you the candy bags so you can deem what is ok for your little one)

I will not be there this week - since I am in the far east and heading to Australia to meet up with King to spin our party in Brisbane....but along with Dr. Dirty and Bryon we have our own Diva Ms Tanja Dixon who will come up with some fun interactive games with her lovely assistant - Spenser Michaels.

So I wish I could be there to hear the great sounds of Starchild (the dancers love this guy) and The Baraness and to see the great and not so great costumes (phil, leave you shirt on...). But I will just have to view them from abroad.....

Dirty and Bryon will be holding it down at Swanky too while I am away.

Month Year

Look what happens when word gets out that we've moved.....We just confirmed Jay Tripwire for Nov 23...... Mark your calendars for this date. We may have to use the bigger room for this event.

I would like to also take a short moment to thank Aaron Dae for blessing us this past week and opening up our new venue. He took it real Chicago style and rocked the place out properly......he even had Kanye East rocking on the tables with him. You can check out the mix next week when I return.....trust me it's worth it.

In fact....some one was so impress they left this note for Aaron

This is also known as KISSING ASS......and I had to make it PG-13.

This is not how you get votes for City Paper..(cue the music)...I now throw my hat in the race and declare that I am officially running for best DJ in the city.. : )

check the dates ---- WMC extended
more info to come...

While I am away - Kanye East a.k.a. Dirty will most likely opening the night on Halloween....I say most likely cuz I have not heard officially yet. But plan to be there - It is on top of Byblos off 18th and Sansom....really crazy spot that is indoor and out. I will return the week after to rock your worlds........

I did not get a image from fluid on this one but also join Winky Dink at Fluid for his world famous
last Wednesdays - trick or treat.
just close your eyes for a second and pretend there is a flyer....

This seems to be the week with out flyer - cuz Kanye East people did not send me a hi-rez flyer either.... so check out Dirty at Bump every Monday night.

And for those of you on the bottom of the planet....come check out King and Myself in Oz. Our tours combine for one dae in Brisbane - King is coming down from Sydney and I from Tokyo.....One night only......and we don't even spin together in Philly......if you book now, you could still arrive before the boat leaves.....

(p.s. to all the haters.....if you want to spin around the world...start your own party there. I hear Dirty is heading to France....He loves the French)

WE HAVE MOVED THE PARTY!!!!

THE BIG NEW IS THAT!!!!!!
REPEAT 10X

LA VERANDA
3 N COLUMBUS BLVD
OR DELAWARE AVE (FOR YOU OLD HEADS)

lets just get this over with now...cuz there is a lot of breaking news in this issue.

1. The party has moved
2. It is indoor/outdoor - the indoors in much bigger than Bubble House and the outside decks are HEATED.
3. It is free to get in for everybody.
4. You can valet park for only $5.00 - (so if you don't have to pay a cover it is the same as b-house)
5. Yes kids are allowed and they can bring their parents
6. Great Sound System - by Righteous Sounds
7. Large food menu available
8. Clean bathrooms
9. Yes there is a bar!!!! with drink specials
10. You have driven past this building for years
11. The party is the same time - 3 till 9
12. Swanky is now in walking distance of the club
13. Don't hate the place until you have given it a chance
14. You all bitched about West Philly too (remember)
15. The El and Public Transport are in walking distance
16. Dirty - is excited cuz Aaron is going to be there
17. Spencer will be there to
18. The same music - just in a new winter location
19. If we have spent all this money to move and you don't show up, I will kick you ass!
20. The Inquirer is doing a story on the party - so come get your Picture taken.

Well I said there would be breaking news......And I meant it.

Now lets keep with the simple thoughts.

1. you know as much as we do about the conference. for up to date info goggle WMC.
2. Yes, I am planning a Sundae party in Miami - and when you see the info change here you will know that we have a venue and date..until then we don't know.
3. call your airlines now and book a flight - also call the hotel and start booking now.
4. if you think you are saving money by staying in North beach or anywhere else besides the strip - stop being foolish. You will spend your entire trip stuck in traffic. Just caught up the extra loot and have a wonderful time.
5. Don't depend on your boy's friend or a hook up to get you something in Miami for the conference, believe me - they don't exist.
6. No you can't stay with us.
7. If you only like House a little bit - DO NOT COME TO THE WMC
8. if you are cheap - DO NOT COME TO THE WMC
9. you are responsible for entertaining yourselves at the WMC - Sundae will entertain you for only our event.
10. Dirty, Byron - the intern and myself will be busy - ARE NOT TRAVEL AGENTS - but will help you out if we can.
11. Lady J and the NYC crew are working diligently on projects now for Miami - Again you will know when we update the site. But you can keep up to the minute updates via Sundae Philadelphia Facebook. Jess is hooking it up constantly.
12. The conference is an amazing event that the entire world participates in. It is expensive - so start putting the $5 cover you saved to good use.

Month Year

Lars Behrenroth - ends Bubble House

It was a bitter sweet day in west Philly this past week. We rocked the day away for the last time in 2007. Lars B - took over the tables after a surprising deep house set by Byron the Intern. Mr. Behrenroth - did not bring the rain as usual, he instead brought the funk. It was expected that Lars would do a good job, but this week, Lars made sure everyone there knew who the fuck he was (inclusive of any Star Wars Fan). He had everyone dancing inside and out of the Bubble House. The selection was flawless (sans the star wars...) and his delivery was impeccable. What may have been a sad event, was turned in to a memorable autumn night in West Philly with anticipation for a new Winter Home on the Delaware river.

You can check out Lars B mix on the site now and of course on XM Radio -Deeper Shades of House.

p.s. Lars says he is coming to Miami - I just hope it does not rain.

This summer was amazing. The talent and the crowd were just swell. But that Swwweeeeeet sound that kept W. Philly rocking was due to the way cool Byron the Intern. His groovy sound system kept the party totally radical dude. So instead of packing up all his "rock on" gear, he is renting it out....So now Sundae is super stoked to announce the birth of Righteous Sounds - it's a way cool way to rock your own parties with the signature Sundae Sound.

It would be totally amazing to share this with everyone - so make sure to score a rental from By - the intern sound guy.
And for the right price - You might hear it in South Beach next year. Sweet!

What does not kill us - can only make us stronger. With the untimely end of Open House at Alfa - I have another party coming at a downtown Rittenhouse - indoor/outdoor venue. I would like to thank everyone that came and supported the now ill fated Alfa event. But that is what it is and now - with a much larger dance floor - an amazing sound system and a huge roof deck - Wednesday nights will be crazy. Strange thing - this party starts two days after I return from Japan. See you all there in November.

Dirty and Gravy - doing it in the gayborhood. Come check them out this and every week at Bump. 13th and Locust

Rob Paine and crew strike again with the legendary warehouse party. Come early this event sells out.
But you better make it to our party too, on Sundae.

OTHER EVENTS

THE party has moved - We are not at the Bubble House

well not until next spring...........

WE ARE MOVING FOR THE WINTER
You will love the differnce
we return to bubble house late spring

Todays big news.....if you have not heard yet. We are moving the party next week to our new Winter Home at La Veranda Ristorante.

It is located on Columbus Blvd (Delaware Ave)...next to the Ice Skating Rink and a five minute walk from Swanky Bubbles. Many of you have driven past this building for years and will amazed when you finally walk inside.

As the pictures below can not put into words the comfort and elegance of the room. Yet it still has that Sundae feel.

I would like to thank everyone for making this an Phenomenal Summer at the Bubble House. It has exceeded anything we had planned. The artist we above par, the kids were there in masses to represent and the heads came and danced the summer heat away. Thank you all.

Special shouts out to John Wicks and the Bubble house staff for making us feel welcomed each and every Sundae. Special, Spherical shouts out to Lauren, who was there from the beginning and has always greeted everyone with a smile. Make sure to come by this week and wish everyone well for the upcoming Winter season. Who knows you might see them at the party and now they can hang out. (so you better buy them a drink !!!!!)

Mr Spenser Michaels will be traveling with us to the new venue....so guys no need to worry. He is still offering his same "Speedy" service.

We have again assembled an outstanding line up of DJs' for this fall and have a few special guest coming unannounced. We are also planning events around the kids early in the day like a Costume Party (where all the kids win). I will be in contact with many of our Sundae Parents in making our new home just as welcoming to the wee ones as the Bubble House was. ALSO IN CASE YOU DID NOT KNOW.....THE PARTY WILL BE FREE AT THE NEW LOCATION...(except for special events)....the new owners are picking up many of the costs of the party and we are passing the savings onto you!!!!!

There is also $5.00 valet parking all dae along with plenty of on street parking, drink specials and a delicious menu to eat in the restaurant below or enjoy upstairs at the party....They have everything you could want, from burgers to steaks. Remember it is an Italian eatery....so the portions are big.

The dancefloor is much larger inside than at the Bubble house and ALL the furniture can move as the party grows. We also have a much larger room to move into for larger events. I ask that everyone, comes by next week with and open mind and takes a look at the place. Give us realistic ideas (keep the bitching at home) on who to "make the party better".

For my dancers....please work with us in finding a balance between your needs and others gathered to dance. For my parents....find patience as we make improvement in the venue for your child's comfort....for my drinkers and sports fans....drink up, but remember this is a family event......keep it clean and respectful.

And to all the haters....before you dis Del Ave. Remember you said the same thing about being in West Philly.
So make sure to come by Bubble House this last week to say farewell to our Summer Madness and mark you calendars for next weeks big bash. We have Aaron coming in form Chicago to reunite with us on this special occasion.

Philly. The party is only great because so many of you have supported us. Continue with us as we move to our new home and by next Spring, who knows how far we will have come along.

For those of you scarred of change.....don't worry, Bryon the intern will be there to walk you through it.

Last Party at the Bubble House....

Lars B is coming back for one last time in 2007 to pay a proper farewell to out favorite Summer House.....Make room for Annette - his #1 groupie on the dance floor this week. Make sure to tell everyone that this will be our last shin dig at the B House for awhile. So you better be there.

And it looks like it is not too soon....Temperatures are finally coming down to proper fall temps.....(yes we will still be outside and inside this week)

You can check out Lars radio show on XM radio channel 82. The hottest show on the air.

Let the games begin....

Starting now, we have a few early time slots open for the party....many of you have voiced that you want to get down with the sundae crew. So now this is your chance...Put together a max 1 hour set of House Music (remember what type of house we play) and "yousendit.com" to us at Djleejones@sundaephiladelphia.com. If we like it, you will get a call for a date. This is not a paid gig, but a chance to prove us wrong for not booking you. You better bring you A - Game and hope all your peeps come out to support you early for that event. If you don't promote yourself, no one else will. We are accepting on a first come, first serve basis. Please note that this is only for the Philadelphia party and not the other sundae parties.

check out what is happening in the future

p.s. the A.C. Party was incredible (even with the power outage)

Sundae Times

Summer just wont let go. YEAH.

And why should it... with an outstanding line up - this season has truly been blessed.
Please take a moment to walk back into the heat of the season that has just passed.
On the birth date of our fair country, we had an Aussie kick of the summer with a proper
dose of melodic house music. Dj Rousey from our sister party in Australia, came, saw
and concurred the crowds gathered below him, steering the vehicle called Sundae into
the path of a brilliant journey that would become the Best Summer So Far. Our next stop
would take us to the mythical lands, where Sirens were once know to enchant travelers to
their death upon the jagged rocks hidden beneath the waves. However, in the 21st century,
we come across a new breed of songstress. Ursula Rucker - safely guided our audience
onto a warm and welcoming shore. She schooled the masses on Cultural awareness and
social responsibility and parted company all to soon as she sang us into "the light". Making a sharp left past the cluster of palm trees, we came upon a service station and filled up on the
Tribal sounds of the Premium Dj Hector Romero. Checking to make sure everything was
"groovy" with the transport, Hector commented on the diversity of the components and how he rarely sees a vehicle so well put together.
Hitting the road again, we tuned on the radio and caught the "Kindred Spirits" show hosted by Rich Medina - for the next few hours Rich would enhance our journey with rare groove, afro
beat and of course four on the floor Diva House beats. Going out of range, we break to get
a quick bite to eat and come across this amazing latin eatery - owned by Oscar P and
Davidson Ospina. Immediately they began to serve us healthy, full dishes of Latin flavored
house, along with generous amounts of Hard House. We were so full by the end, we could
hardly eat another bite, but gladly took the Tribal House desserts that Davidson presented, compliments of the House.
Crossing into another "Higher State of Consciences" we stopped by a road side stand and
picked up some delicious (DJ) Peaches - these legendary fruits only are available so often
and have not been seen in these parts for years. Classic taste is the best way to describe
them. And also delicious. Our travels took us down a dirt road, we past a few buildings
along the way and started to hear this heavenly music drifting in breeze, the further we
drove, to louder it became - soon on the horizon we saw an old church. Curious, we parked
and went inside. The choir was in rehearsal under the watchful eye of DJ Oji. During this
session, we heard the most amazing, soul cleansing, vocal house music - so uplifting you
could barely keep from yelling "hallelujah".
Noticing the time, we departed and continued our journey - over the next few hours - we
listened to the Sound Between Movement show - hosted by Sean Thomas, Pete Moss
and Joey Crawford - So impressed by the show, many of passengers called in to find where
they could download the music.
As night fell over our excursion, we stopped to pick up some "Funky People" - Dj Tee
Alford and a few friends "from up North" jumped in and offered to drive for a bit. They took
a detour and we found ourselves lost in music. Every turn was either a Classic House track,
a Motown favorite or a gem not yet discovered. With the windows down you could smell the
fresh new House beats coming off the horizon. And just over that horizon, you could see
the night sky illuminated.
Parting company, Tee pointed the way to the light and soon we came upon a great metropolis. This eco -friendly utopia had been carefully put together by World renowned Architect (Dj)
Josh Wink. From the foundation to pinnacles - every beat was handcrafted and place in
precise order to entertain the masses gathered in its warm light. We had not seen a crowd
this large during our summer journey, nor one so eager to party.
Before we left the city - we stopped one last time to get a bite to eat and came across an
English pub. The Bar keep - Darren Holland - served up an international spread of House
usic - there was something for everyone, classic fare to Nuevo treats - no palette was left
wanting. While we feasted his spread - he hit the 'telli" and we caught the live broadcast of
Lady Alma, to say that this girl can sing, is an understatement. Every cameral angle caught
the crowds gathered with smiles on their faces and hands in the air. And the 7.1 Dolby sound allowed us to feel the force of Alma's voice penetrate our hearts and souls.

One last stop before we settled in for the night, Darren pointed us in the direction of the
brightest star in the sky. Directly under it's glow we came across the home of Venus 7 - Diva
of the Deep. Here we rested in the soul full, deep beats of her House.

Our journey pauses but tomorrow is another day and season - I am excited about what the
dawn brings to our travels and the Winter's chill to our souls.

Due to the collapse of the shelving unit holding a few thousand of my records. Music updates will be delayed until I uncover my computer tower in the piles of vinyl it lies beneath.

Well if you were not there this past week, there is nothing to say.....the Eagles won!! the Britt played his ass off and Alma invited Jesus to the party.

Let me first say this, it is rare that I get a chance to really enjoy a Sundae party....it is not all glamorous for the three of us. But with the help of the Intern (sans back pain) & the Open Bar Crew,,,for a brief second I really got down.

It was during Alma's Tremendous performance......it all started with Dirty whipping up a brew of delicious House beats - letting the aroma fill the courtyard of the Bubble House. Wetting the preverbal appetites of the hungry (but late arriving crowd). Dirty did his best to keep the flavors moving (along with Annette) while the masses were navigating huge traffic delays due to the game. Around seven, Dirty relinquished the decks to the Darren Holland - one of the deepest Britts I know.

Darren immediately - took over and started to dish out some hot vocals - served with a little garnish of Diva. Looking over the growing crowd, he decided to skip ahead to the main course - (cause dessert was on the way). Large quantities of organic House pour out for the sound system. Filling the bellies of those below with some good home cooking. Darren - took his time, putting in the proper ingredients for this main course. A lot of soul, a generous amount of new track from across the pond and a pinch of good ole fashion Philly House Classics. The crowd devoured this entree and was begging for more.

Well, more came through the door - in the form of the most delicious desserts. Lady Alma snatched the microphone and immediately let everyone know that she was "Happy" to be here at the Bubble House. With in minutes - hundred swooned around the makeshift stage and could not get enough of this sweet dish. Hand in the air - mouths cheering for more. Alma - ever the professional - gave of herself in generous doses - in fact - she gave so much that she walking into the crowd to let the people sample this heavenly treat up close and personal. The crowd and myself - just could not get enough.

Throughout her performance - she kept lifting the crowd higher and higher - having them join her in the course - while she blew them away with the verse !!! Alma - Lady Alma - that is, electrified the Bubble House - united strangers and reconnected friends with that powerful voice - back up by her unstoppable soul. Every second from start to finish just re-
